  1. Age of the Driver. The younger the driver is the more expensive it can be to insure. However, there are some insurance carriers that offer programs for young drivers with Good Grades and Drivers training certification.
  2. Gender Typically Males seem to be at a higher rate for violations. Currently this is being challenged for gender discrimination but, in the meantime some carriers will rate a male driver with higher premium.
  3. Type of Vehicle Some vehicles are more expensive to insurance than others. For example, the value of a Tesla is more expensive to repair than a Honda Civic. This causes the rates to increase.
  4. City (certain zip codes are more expensive than others)
  5. Tickets and/or Accidents
  6. Drivers’ experience Whether your 17 or 30 having an accident and violation free driving record for at least 3 years can get you better rates.
  7. Married or Single
